Public consultation on fragrance ingredients.
The European Comission has opened a public consultation regarding changes propoosed to annexes II and III of the Regulation 1223/2009 on cosmetic products.
In public consultations, any interested party can present their comments and evidences to the European commision for consideration.
The proposed amendments include ingredients from three plant species:
- Tagetes erecta flower extract y flower oil (CAS 90131-43-4) are to be included in Annex II and will no longer be used in the formulation of cosmetic products.
- Tagetes minuta flower extract and flower oil (CAS 91770-75-0) and Tagetes patula flower extract y flower oil (CAS 91772-29-1 / 8016-84-0) are included in Annex III. There will be an upper limit of 0.01% in leave-on products (with the exception of sunscreen products, and up to a 0.1% in rinse-off products. There is also a purity criteria ser out theat establishes a maximum presence of tertiophen (alpha-terthienyl) must be equal or less than 0.35%.
The consultation period will extend until de 8 March 2017.
