Hexyl Salicylate and Disperse Red 17 – Consultation on their harmonised classification and labelling
ECHA has opened a public consultation on two harmonized classification proposals.
ECHA’s two harmonized classification proposals concern Hexyl Salicylate and Disperse Red 17, both used as cosmetic ingredients.
Hexyl Salicylate is a fragrance ingredient used in many fragrance compounds. It may be found in fragrances used in decorative cosmetics, fine fragrances, shampoos, toilet soaps and other toiletries. This ingredients isn’t currently under any Annex of Regulation (EC) Nº 1223/2009 on cosmetic products.
The ingredient is proposed to be be classified as Skin Sens. 1 and Repr. 2.
Disperse Red 17, is a colorant used in hair dyes that is regulated under Annex III of the Regulation on cosmetic products.
The ingredient is proposed to be be classified as Skin Sens. 1
Both proposals will be open for comment until April 9th, 2021.
