New York – Cosmetics Law not tested on animals
The Governor of New York has signed Senate Bill S483B into law. This project promulgates the reform of the general commercial law in relation to the prohibition of the sale of cosmetics tested on animals.
The new law “New York Cruelty Free Cosmetics Act” will go into effect on January 1, 2023.
With the approval of this Law, the state of New York becomes the tenth state to prohibit the sale of cosmetics tested on animals.
The other states that have banned the sale of cosmetics tested on animals are California, Nevada, Illinois, Hawaii, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, Virginia, and Louisiana.
